RSPO RT6: General Assembly adopts resolution on Tripa

The 6th Annual Roundtable (RT6) of the RSPO was held in Bali on November 18-20. PanEco successfully submitted a resolution to the General Assembly, requesting the RSPO to take action to stop the destruction of Tripa and to implement an effective mechanism to control bad practices of the palm oil industry. It was adopted with 37 against 30 and 60 neutral votes. After heavy discussions, the General Assembly also adopted the resolution brought in by WWF International and New Britain Palm Oil Ldt asking for a "procedure to assure compliance with RSPO principles and criteria concerning new plantings". On the other hand, RSPO failed to agree on an immediate logging moratorium.

However, the Executive Bureau will only discuss these topics next year.
